Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

This tool processes your selected image locally in your browser. It does not upload the image to a server.

Why can the result be larger?

An already optimized image may become larger when re-encoded. Try WebP or JPEG with a lower quality setting and compare the results. PNG export is lossless and may not reduce size.

Which format should I choose?

WebP works well for many web images. JPEG is useful for photos but does not preserve transparency. PNG preserves transparency and is useful when lossless output matters.
